Join us for our 7th Annual Painting Retreat in the stunning region of Nayarit, Mexico, this year hosted in the vibrant town of Sayulita! This enchanting coastal destination is known for its breathtaking beaches, colorful culture, and laid-back vibe, making it the perfect backdrop for our creative escape.

Our painting retreat will be held at Casa Kukana, a Bungalow retreat hotel nestled in the hills above Sayulita just a short walk from the town center. The quiet, peaceful property features lush gardens, a natural stone pool, and spaces designed for relaxation and inspiration. We have rooms being held for us until November 31st. We are thrilled to once again be hosting a retreat where accommodations are conveniently located on-site! This unique feature truly enhances the experience, fostering connection and convenience for all participants.

3 day painting retreat with a focus on ocean inspired tropical scenes and waves.

Punta de Mita, A Tropical Paradise. A diverse ecosystem has fostered a tapestry of natural wonders at Punta Mita. From colorful marine and wildlife, to unusual birds and butterflies, to interesting flora and trees. Sea exploration reveals pods of wild dolphins and giant manta rays, the kaleidoscope of coral reef, home to tropical fish in every color and migrating humpback whales. About 25 miles north of the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, it’s only a 45-minute drive to the resort town’s main entrance.

"Wave Intensive" - This is a step by step, deep dive into painting waves realistically. You will learn to deal with spray, froth, backlight and other fundamentals of wave painting.

Saturday, March 29th 2025, 1-4pm

Saturday, April 12th 2025, 1-4pm

"Painting Southern California" - We will work from an iconic scene of a Southern California beach. You will learn the fundamentals of composing the scene first in the large shapes and working through to the finishing detail, all while developing an intimate awareness and faculty for values, hue and edges.

Saturday, April 26th 2025, 1-4pm
