About Wade Koniakowsky

“I’ve been blessed to live near the ocean all my life. It‘s my constant source of inspiration. My paintings reflect the many moods, colors and energy of the ocean.” -Wade

Wade Koniakowsky, one of the nation’s leading ocean-inspired artists, began painting at the age of six and started surfing before he was 12. By blending these two passions, he has gained worldwide recognition for his oil paintings of the ocean.
An acclaimed artist with an international following and lifelong passion for art, Wade has spent the majority of his years devoting himself to art through outlets which combine philanthropy to Wade’s deep connection with Fine Art, the Ocean and Surfing. With a background in graphic design and advertising, Wade’s creativity and talent has resulted in the successful development of revered national marketing campaigns for multiple Fortune 500 companies and brands including Billabong, Vans, Surfrider Foundation, Tommy Bahama, Roxy,  resulting in over 300 creative awards.

Wade began painting at the age of six and started surfing before he was 12. These two milestones led to a blending of passions which was subsequently channeled towards an extensive formal education and professional background in advertising, later segueing to the practice of fine art.

Following a successful professional career, which culminated in the co-creation and operating of a renowned Advertising agency, Wade chose to direct his talents towards fine art and has immersed himself in Oil painting, depicting the stunning beauty and culture of art related to ocean scapes across the planet. In addition to oil paintings, Wade has become a highly sought-after artist of custom, unique Surfboards. Wade’s handcrafted boards are functional at their core, but more specifically represent spectacular works of art to grace your home and lifestyle. Each piece, bearing Wade’s signature style, evokes a complex depth of color and comforting warmth.

“Wade Koniakowsky’s focus is capturing Polynesian dreamscapes and the related emotional tie we have with far away lands. His vibe intersects with those same emotions–unspoiled, nirvana-esque landscapes, islander portraits, and ephemeral visions that make you want to sell it all and travel.”
