Wade says of this piece- "The realism of this painting is about as good as I am capable of at this point in my painting career. I worked meticulously on the inside of the wave, so the viewer would be able to explore the vortex, part of the wave that is often left vague. While going the distance to create realism, I try never to depart completely from my roots as an impressionist".
